HOW TO FRESHEN UP AND ‘SPRING’ INTO ACTION

Sep 3, 2020

HAPPY NEW SEASON!! A fresh new season is upon us and its my favourite one. So lets talk about how to freshen up.

It’s my absolute favourite time of the year – SPRING!! And not just because it’s my birthday month…well, mostly because it’s my birthday month….but also because it’s such a beautiful time of year.

The weather is divine, flowers bloom, and everything feels light and bright.

It’s the perfect time to introduce you to my FRESH NEW website!

Taking the steps….

I’ve been feeling for a while now that my old website just didn’t reflect what it is I now do, the different ways in which I help leaders and teams. I didn’t even feel like it represented who I am. I have evolved and changed so much in the 5 years since my website was first published.

But I was so caught in the doing of doing, that I couldn’t even think about what or how I wanted it to be different than it was. You know that feeling, don’t you? Like you’re stuck, and perhaps a little stale.

So, one of the gifts I have found in the forced restrictions and isolation of COVID is the reminder in the power of stillness.  Of becoming still, and quiet. Of stopping and breaking the busy-ness cycle to really listen to your inner self.

When we become still we enter into a state of relaxed awareness. That place of productive alertness.

The noise and clutter of the mind and environment, the circumstance you find yourself in, fade and clear – and you are left with a clarity of thought and thinking that awakens the imagination, and gives space for new thoughts to spring, and the next steps to take emerge.

It became pretty clear to me that I needed to change things up, and the steps I needed to take to make it happen. The next step was DECIDING.  Decision is key to making things happen. When you make a decision it’s like a switch that ignites action.

I decided to get help – I contracted a web developer and I booked my photographer…That one step, becoming still, was all that was needed to get the ball rolling, and for change to happen.

It doesn’t matter what it is you want to get clarity on – a website, a new job, a project, a way forward with your team – entering into a state of relaxed awareness will sharpen your perception and give you the energy to do what you need to do.   You become clear, resolute and laser focussed.

It’s a super important self care strategy when leading in the long game that we find ourselves in with COVID – providing you, and therefore your team, with clarity, certainty and decisive action.

“When we become still we enter into a state of relaxed awareness.”

So, as we move into the season of spring, what is it that you want to change up? Take a moment (or two) out of your busy day to sit in stillness and allow your imagination to take up the space.  If it helps you to have a focus, these are good questions to ask in your stillness:

  1. What do I need to know?
  2. What do I need to let go of?
  3. What is the first step I need to take?

And, before I go, I invite you to stay a while, and take a look around here on my website. Take a peek, and let me know what you like most about it. Just quietly, I’m loving it, and I have to give a big shout out to Leeha from Mind Your Words my web developer and Louise Williams my photographer for bringing it to life.

If you need support as the Leader in your team, business or organisation, lets book some time together, complimentary, to talk about what steps you can take with your team through this, and what you can do for your self-care too. Please get in touch.
